Book 1: Prep and Training; Chapter 2: Hunter Mountain
Posted by GEOCast
This month’s hike was the Devils Path route up Hunter Mountain. Hunter is the second tallest in the Catskills of New York at 4040 feet. The route we took to the top was 7 miles round-trip and over 2000 feet elevation gain. It was the longest hike we’ve yet don’t, the highest we’ve ever been and the overall toughest hike SEUSA has ever completed. The Devil’s Path truly lived up to its name. Enjoy the video. This month’s theme: Pirates of the Carribean.
Book 1: Prep and Training; Chapter 1: Crane Mountain

This is video of our hike to the top of Crane Mountain in the southern Adirondacks. This was our toughest hike yet, as well as our highest in elevation. From the top, you were above all the southern Adirondacks and could just make out Hadley Mountain Fire Tower. Gore was visible in the west and we caught our first glimpse of Mount Marcy. The 5 highest peaks in the ‘Daks were able to be spotted in the north. A great hike and a great day full of fun! Enjoy the video!
GEO-Cast Becomes Expedition Marcy 2008

SEUSA GEO-Cast is transforming. Originally, we were an audio talk show covering geocaching news and other topics. But, because of our upcoming trip to Mount Marcy in the Adirondack High Peaks, we decides to change the podcast. We are going from being an audio show to a video podcast showing you our hikes, preparation and finally, our trek to the highest peaks in New York State!
Shorter trailers will be available on YouTube under our user name, CachersWorks ( www.youtube.com/cachersworks). The full version will be available here as a podcast, as well as on the Videos Page at the main SEUSA website (www.seusa-geocaching.org). We really encourage your comments and suggestions. Attached here is the intro video. The first edition of us scaling Crane Mountain, should be up very soon. Thanks and enjoy!
